Simulating the role of curators in a fictitious museum, Iva Sveshtarova and Willy Prager select exhibits from the field of performance, visual arts and wrestling, which has served as a technique for technique for training and fabrication of individuals since ancient times. In its turn, the term “hygiene” suggests the notion of control, discipline and order, as well as the a/illusion of “a sound mind in a healthy body”. However, “Museum of Hygiene” opts to reverse the optics and look at the concept of “hygiene” by sabotaging it. A tense interaction between two bodies whose acts go beyond the regulation of “sanitation”: they produce and oppose their forces…until utter exhaustion.

A performance realized in partnership with Ivan Vazov National Theatre and supported by Goethe-Institut, Bulgaria and the Ministry of Culture.
